Hike "3-Seen-Blick"

This hike offers the only opportunity to overlook Kammersee, Toplitzsee and Grundlsee, lined up like a string of pearls. It is almost difficult to detach from this sight again to start the way back.

  • Difficulty level: medium
  • Starting point: Gössl, Rostiger Anker
  • Travel time: approx. 5 hours
  • Length: 1.8 km
  • Vertical meters: 485

3-Seen-Blick - detailed description

A so far little known tour to probably the only place in the Tote Gebirge, from which the Grundlsee, the Toplitzsee and the Kammersee can be seen at the same time. Already soon after the beginning of the actual ascent, the beautiful view back to the Grundlsee is impressive. In the middle section, the clearly audible roar of a waterfall surprises, which falls on the other side of the ice-age "fjord" into the much lower-lying Toplitzsee. Towards the end, one is amazed by a massive old road ramp with a retaining wall more than 10 meters high. Last but not least, at an altitude of about 1300 meters, you have a breathtaking view over the three lakes.

Hike to the "Ressen"

During the hike up the Ressen, we pass our village's own foundling spring, which supplies our Narzissendorf Zloam. A truly mystical place. Once we reach our goal, a fantastic view opens up over the Grundlsee all the way to the Toplitzsee, which lie embedded in the Ausseer mountains at our feet.

  • Difficulty level: easy
  • Starting point: Narzissendorf Zloam
  • Travel time: approx. 4 hours
  • Lenght: 9.6 km
  • Vertical meters: 593

Ressen - detailed description

The Ressen is a wooded mountain, which has its place halfway along the Grundlsee. It is easy to climb from the Narzissendorf Zloam and offers an attractive view over the Grundlsee and the Tote Gebirge. This mountain is also well suited for beginners of mountain sports although one covers about 797 meters in altitude. At the beginning of the approx. 9.6 km long trail, you hike along a forest road with a spectacular view of the Rigips cable car towards the Ressen. After the first major ascent, you pass a lovely alpine pasture. From the middle station of the cable car you walk the last part up to the Ressen and can enjoy a view over the village of Grundlsee and further.

Hike to the "Trisselwand" (Lake Altaussee)

Actually, the path to the summit cross is a "panoramic path " from the beginning, because you are rewarded again and again with unique views, which then leads to a breathtaking all-round panorama. Not quite so easy, but in any case it is worthwhile!

  • Difficulty level: medium
  • Starting point: Tressensattel parking lot in Altaussee
  • Travel time: approx. 5 hours
  • Lenght: 8.1 km
  • Vertical meters: 797

Trisselwand - detailed description

This dream tour begins at the Tressensattel parking lot in Altaussee. There you walk across meadows, later through the forest to the junction of trail 233 and continue on it to the righthand side upwards. It goes quite steeply up through the forest (partly slippery!) and soon you reach a crossing forest road. Cross it straight over, then steeply, but always on a good path upwards. There are already some beautiful views to the Trisselwand and also to the Dachstein in the back. It goes through the forest one last time before reaching the mountain pine zone. Then it goes long and very sharply over a now partly very rocky path upwards. Partly there is also a terrain protection, but this is not necessary for the average hiker, but you should be sure-footed and free from vertigo! Soon you reach a comfortable bench with a magnificent view of the Grundlsee and the Dachstein to the left.
On the main path it now continues comfortably, partly uphill, partly downhill, sometimes through mountain pine alleys, sometimes across meadows. It gets steeper one last time, and the trail leads along the edge of the cliff. Soon the summit cross is reached. From there, a spectacular view of the sister mountain Loser and Lake Altaussee awaits you.

Hike to the "Pühringerhütte"

When you stop there, you will not want to leave the legendary Lahngang lakes, which offer us refreshment and water replenishment with their cool water. The natural jewels are halfway to the actual destination - the idyllically situated Pühringer Hütte.

  • Difficulty level: difficult
  • Starting point: parking lot Kanzlermoos
  • Travel time: approx. 5 hours
  • Lenght: 13 km
  • Vertical meters: 1023

Pühringerhütte detailed description

The Pühringerhütte at 1.637 m stands lonely in the Tote Gebirge in the Steirisches Salzkammergut at the beautiful Elmsee and directly below the Elm. It is an important base for long-distance hikers.
From the village of Gößl on the eastern shore of the Grundlsee, the trail leads steeply uphill through the forest right at the beginning. Via the Drausengatterl you enter the nature reserve Totes Gebirge Ost. The further trail leads picturesquely past the northern shore of the two Lahngang lakes and slightly uphill to the Elmgrubenschacht - also called Emil's Tränenhügel.
Following the signs, you finally reach the Pühringerhütte, which stands at the beautiful Elmsee embedded in lush vegetation and karstic rock formations at the foot of the Elm.
